About Us
Welcome to Grouper Fishing, a fishing and sea adventure experience based in Ambalangoda, on Sri Lanka's beautiful southern coast. We started with a simple goal: to share the ocean with visitors and help grow tourism in the Ambalangoda area. Our main activity is rod fishing from a boat, where you head out to open water and try to land your own catch.
Every fishing trip lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes, which is enough time to relax, enjoy the sea and fish at your own pace. Choose from our three daily trips: Sunrise Catch at 6am, Morning Catch at 10am and Sunset Catch at 4pm. Beginners are always welcome, and we provide the rods, tackle and guidance you need to get started.
If you'd rather get in the water, join our Midday Snorkeling sessions and explore the sea in one-hour slots. Safety comes first on every trip, with life jackets and proper equipment available for all guests. Born and raised in Ambalangoda, Nimesh started Grouper Fishing to share the south coast's waters with visitors and help grow local tourism. He personally oversees every trip and ensures every guest is treated like family.
The Captain · Boat Driver
With years of experience on open water and deep knowledge of southern reefs and tides, our captain drives the boat on every journey, ensuring a safe, calm, and memorable experience for everyone onboard.
